Chapter 1
“Cheers!” Matsumoto exclaimed, clinking her sake glass with the others.
What were they doing? Well, let’s retrace out steps…
Matsumoto finished her work (for once) and Hitsugaya, being nice and kind, decided to reward her with anything she would like.
Matsumoto, being a liquor addict, instantly decided on holding an all-out alcohol party.
Matsumoto invited Renji, who accepted after much persuasion.
She invited Ikkaku, who accepted.
Yumichika, who overheard this, began whining and telling Matsumoto about the years of friendship they shared. And so, Yumichika was also included.
Kenpachi, who overheard Matsumoto finally agree to Yumichika’s indirect self-invitation, self-invited himself too, which made Yachiru want to come along also.
Hisagi passed by, and persuaded Matsumoto to invite him, too.
Matsumoto reviewed her guest list, and had only one invitation left. While she was contemplating on who she should invite, Hinamori just happened to pass by.
Matsumoto instantly invited her, since she got her poor Taicho into this and wanted something to cheer him up.
So, in the end, Matsumoto, Renji, Yachiru, Yumichika, Kenpachi, Ikkaku, Hisagi and Hinamori all showed up at the assigned time on the assigned date.
Matsumoto greeted them and invited them in.
Hitsugaya was there, too.
He took one look at Matsumoto’s guests and asked himself what he was doing there.
‘Oh. Yea. To make sure Matsumoto doesn’t get into trouble…’ he answered himself in his mind.
“Okay, everyone! Here are your sakes!” Matsumoto poured some transparent liquid from a jar into a few cups for her guests.
Hinamori declined, while the others accepted the offer and began to drink.
After that, silence settled into the atmosphere for a while.
“This party’s getting boring,” Hisagi stated, a little drunk.
“Hey, I got an idea!” Renji said. “Let’s play a game! Truth or dare!”
“OK!” the others agreed.
The group huddled together and decided to pick Hitsugaya as their first victim.
“Taicho, truth or dare?” Matsumoto swayed after gulping down five small teacups of sake.
“Truth,” Hitsugaya replied, staying on the safe side.
The group huddled together once more, deciding on Hitsugaya’s question.
“Alright… do you like Hinamori Fuku Taicho?” Hisagi asked on behalf of his counterparts.
Hitsugaya showed no emotion at all. Or at least, his face didn’t. This is what his inner self was like:
“OH GAWD, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! OF COURSE I LIKE HINAMORI!!! ARE YOU GUYS IDIOTS?!”
“No. The relationship between Hinamori and I is purely colleague-like,” Hitsugaya stated.
Hinamori concealed her slightly disappointed face.
Matsumoto flashed her Taicho a ‘c’mon I know you’re lying’ look before turning back to the group.
“Who’s next?” Matsumoto asked.
“Me, then,” Renji volunteered.
“Fine. Truth or dare?” Hisagi asked.
“Dare,” Renji muttered.
The group huddled together, to discuss what horrors and shenanigans they would put their friend through.
A few minutes later, the group disbanded.
“OK! Abarai, we dare you to go out there and kiss the first girl you see!” Hisagi exclaimed.
“That’s it?” Renji snorted.
“Could’ve been worse,” Hisagi replied. “Matsumoto wanted you to kiss the first GUY you saw.”
Renji turned a little pale. “OK, OK. Fine. Let’s go out, then,” he proposed as he walked out of the apartment.
As the group hid behind a pillar, Renji pretended to look at the darkening sky, waiting for a female to pass by.
Byakuya passed by, cocked an eyebrow at his queer and bright red lieutenant and walked off.
‘Oh my God… Thank you, all those who rooted for me! God, I could’ve had to kiss Kuchiki Taicho…’ Renji thought.
“See? I TOLD you we should’ve picked the first GUY,” Matsumoto pouted-whispered.
“Matsumoto, shut up. I have no intention whatsoever to be held responsible for anything that happens or is happening just because I’m the person with the highest rank here,” Hitsugaya stated.
“And yaoi is SICK,” the rest of the group added.
Matsumoto still pouted. “But it would’ve been more fun…” she muttered to herself.
A few seconds later, Nanao passed by.
Renji took this chance (before somebody else like Soi Fon walked past him) and pounced on Nanao.
Renji wrapped his arms around the lieutenant and kissed her on the lips.
A shocked Nanao took one tenth of a second to recover. She pulled Renji away forcefully and delivered one tight slap across his face, ignoring the fact that she herself enjoyed a little bit of it. “Have you no shame?!” she screamed as she ran off.
Renji walked back into the apartment, feeling fine. After all, he wasn’t expecting Nanao to kiss him back. But, boy, if she did, wouldn’t that be surprising.
The other party guests trailed after Renji.
Out of the blue, Byakuya walked leisurely past the group.
“Hey! Kuchiki Taicho!” Matsumoto called.
Byakuya turned his body around slowly, his sober face glaring at them. “What?” he responded, pronouncing each syllable with the correct sounds.
“Would you like to join us for one game?” Matsumoto asked.
Byakuya stared at her, astonished by her request.
“Please?” Matsumoto pleaded.
Byakuya sighed. He knew he was going to regret this… “Fine.”
“Yay! C’mon, Kuchiki Taicho! You’re gonna our next victi – I mean, our next player!” Matsumoto dragged Byakuya into her apartment, where the rest were waiting and Renji hiding under a table.
“Abarai,” Byakuya said to Renji, “get out from under that table. It’s pathetic.”
Renji hurriedly got out.
“Okay, Byaku-shii! Truth or Dare?” Yachiru questioned.
“Dare,” replied the unfeeling Taicho.
The guests and Matsumoto huddled together again.
Finally, after a few minutes of hushed whispers, Yachiru said this: “OK, Byaku-shii! You have to wear a pink-pink yutaka and go to Soi-chan’s quarters and ask her for some sugar ‘coz you wanna bake muffins for me! Oh, an’ don’t forget! You hafta look as if you love her! And you must call me Yachi-chan! Or Ya-chan! And you wanna have sex with her, whatever that is!”
Byakuya was speechless, astounded and flabbergasted, all at once.
Renji took a pink colored yutaka from Matsumoto’s closet and handed it to his Taicho apologetically. “Sorry… it’s not my fault…”
Byakuya snatched the yutaka from Renji’s quivering hands and stalked to the bathroom.
Upon getting there, he slammed the door off its hinges.
A few minutes later, Byakuya emerged from the bathroom.
And – amazing – he looked like a girl! (Well, except for the barrette.)
Byakuya flash-stepped to Soi Fon’s quarters, followed by his ‘enemies’.
Once he got there, he knocked the door and made his eyes into little slits, and so on. Just like what he and his wife had done on their honeymoon.
Soi Fon slammed the door opened, irritated. “What is–” she stopped when she opened her small, tired eyes and gazed at the Byakuya in front of her.
“W-what… what is-is i-it, Kuchiki Taicho?” Soi Fon stammered in embarrassment.
“I…” Byakuya hesitated. “I… I need some sugar to bake some muffins for Yachi-chan…”
Soi Fon blinked. Once. Twice. Thrice. “P-pardon?”
“I said… IneedsomesugartobakesomemuffinsforYachi-chan,” Byakuya spluttered.
“I-I’m sorry?” Soi Fon blinked again.
“I… Need… some… sugar… to… bake… some… muffins… for… Yachi-chan…” Byakuya repeated for the third time.
Soi Fon nodded slowly, staggered into the kitchen, swaggered back to the front door with a packet of sugar and another packet of brown sugar, thrust the packets into Byakuya’s arms and fainted.
“Well,” Matsumoto commented. “That went well.”
“Cheers!” Matsumoto exclaimed, clinking her sake glass with the others.
